I'm a Hungry Butterfly

I wrote this song while teaching kindergarten students at Dryden Street.  I was looking for a good caterpillar song for the springtime and decided to write my own.

Guitar/Bass/Vocal- Annie Allauzen

Drums:  Zak Fisher

I'm a lonely caterpillar, walking down the street you can hear me by my feet I go a click clack pitter pat, click clack pitter pat, a click clack just like that

But when my time has come, to turn into a cocoon.

I'll spin my little chrysalis and I'll hang from that big oak tree.

The sun will shine the moon will rise and I'll wait till I can be a butterfly!

Ba, ba ba ba....

I'm a hungry butterfly looking for some nectar to eat.  I go from flower to flower the wind gives my power even in the golden hour.

And when my time has come to fly back to my home I'll spread my wings and take to the sky and head to my tiny abode.  The sun will shine the moon will rise and I'll wait till I can see my mama's wings, until I can see my papas and my brother's wings.  Until I can see my sister and my nanny's wings.  Until I know it's safe to fly back home
